Water Ski Tournaments & Schools - Beginner Introductory School

The LVWSC as part of its sport development strategy is conducting Public Introductory beginners school in season 2005/06 at the club site Lake Narracan - Halls Bay, Yallourn North to introduce Gippsland people to the slalom and Tricks disciplines of tournament water skiing.

This school is primarily directed at the public at large and juniors specifically. However people of all ages can attend without fear of embarrassment. The current Club president did not start skiing until he was 35 years old and reached national championship standard. Tournament Water skiing is a sport for all ages and the divisions in Australia include over 55 years.

Students will be required to be able to swim and bring all the appropriate clothing and protection accessories recommended for use on the beach and some lunch.

There will be 10 places per day in a school for the season 2006/07. The school will run from 9.00am to 5.00pm in which time it is expected a student will have up to three skis. A fee of $75 per person, per day that will cover the provision of coaches, boats, drivers and the compulsory membership of the Australian Water Ski & Wakeboarding Federation. An adult guardian must accompany students under the age of 17 years.

Those wishing to learn to ski - jump must join the club as a social member (minimum) and AWWF member for insurance issues and learn with in the Club operations. All other personal needs are the responsibility of the student.

The Introductory school will run from 18-28 December 2006
